Class Descriptions

Membership is not required to participate in fitness classes

Yoga

Improves flexibility, strength, posture and balance. Learn basic yoga poses, stress reduction and relaxation techniques. This class is geared to the quieter side of the yoga spectrum. Props will be used and modifications made to make this class available to those with physical challenges.

Carido Kickboxing

This Class is designed to challenge you not only cardiovascular but your suscular strength and muscular endurance as well. Combined a half hour of hign intensity kickboxing routine and polish the end of class off with an intense half hour of actual boxing techniques.

Beginner Reformer

A beginner’s class to help educate and introduce the fundamentals of cardiovascular exercise and proper weight training techniques. The first 30 minutes will be cardiovascular and the last 30 minutes will be weight training.

Beat the Ball

Want to be on the Ball and have a Blast at the same time? Then this is the class you want to be a part of. Aerobic routine to burn fat while incorporating drumming with arms using REAL Drum Sticks for muscle toning of the arms and upper body. Beginners encouraged.

Kickboxing

This class is designed to challenge you not only cardiovascular but your muscular strength and muscular endurance as well. Combined a half hour of high intensity kickboxing routine and polish the end of class off with an intense half hour of actual boxing techniques. Any routine can be modified to fit women of any age, fitness level and any physical limitations you may have.

Aerobics

This class is designed to not only get your heart rate up for a half hour, but you will also get educated about the resistance portion of the class as well. No matter what health condition you may have, the class can be modified for you. This class is a great overall body workout.

Zumba

Fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind workout class. You will achieve long-term benefits while experiencing an absolute blast in one exciting hour of calorie-burning, body-energizing, awe-inspiring movements meant to engage and captivate you for life! Music is the key ingredient to Zumba classes. The score, created with specific beats and tempo changes, transitions the workout from one toning, strengthening or cardio move to another, and targets every major muscle group in the body.

Pilates

Dramatically transforms the way your body looks, feels and performs. It builds strength without excess bulk, creating a sleek, toned body with slender thighs and a strong core. It teaches body awareness, good posture and easy, graceful movement. It improves flexibility, agility, balance and motion. It can even help alleviate back pain. Pilates elongates and strengthens, improving muscle elasticity and joint mobility. In this class we will use the basic pilates principals and fuse them with other workout styles so that you learn to workout safely and get the most out of your workouts.

Intense Intervals

Great fun, high impact workout! Aerobic routine to burn fat using step, kickboxing and weight training intervals. Beginners encouraged.

CLASS CANCELLATION AND CLUB CLOSING POLICIES DURING WINTER MONTHS During the winter months, following is the cancellation policy for classes and the club. These policies are for (1) the safety of our instructors and staff and (2) the convenience of our members so you don’t come to the club to find a class is cancelled or the club is closed.

1.) MORNING CLASSES: a. Will be cancelled when the Allen Park School District has closed schools due to snow/ice conditions.

b. Will not be cancelled when the Allen Park District has closed schools due to extreme cold temperatures.

2.) EVENING CLASSES: a. A decision will be made by 4:00 p.m. regarding the cancellation of evening classes. This decision will be based upon the weather forecast, the conditions at the club, and our instructor’s ability to get to the club safely from her home or work.

b. If you have a question about evening classes being cancelled due to the weather, please call before coming to the club if you are only coming for a class. If you get voice message, please call again until someone answers the phone as we may be flooded with calls and not able to check for voice messages or the club may have closed early.

3.) SATURDAY MORNING CLASSES: a. An instructor scheduled to teach will call the club between 7:00a.m. and 8:00 a.m. to advise the Fit Zone staff if they cannot safely drive to the club to teach.

b. If members have a question about classes being cancelled due to the weather, please call the club at 8:00 a.m. (or after) before coming to the club if you are only coming for a class. As there are 3 classes on Saturday mornings taught by different instructors, we may have a class or two depending on which instructors can safely drive to the club.

c. If you get voice message when you call, please call again until someone answers the phone as we may be flooded with calls and will not be able to check for voice messages or the club may not have opened.

4.) CLUB CLOSING a. If the weather is extremely severe the club may close early. Please call the club to insure we are open before coming out in very severe weather. b. It is always our intent to open the club; however, if the weather is extremely severe, please call the club to be sure staff has been able to get to the club to open it.
