Group Class Descriptions

Yoga

This class can be translated to mean union of the body, mind, and spirit. It is a non-competitive, self-paced, and sensitive to your body’s needs. It gently nurtures your body through a series of physical postures to stretch and tone the muscles, release pressure in the joints, and align and strengthen the spine. Yoga also uses breathing exercises to calm and relax the mind.

Fit Body

This class combines a Butts and Guts workout with an upper body routine that will shape and define your arms, shoulders, and upper body with effective, time-efficient methods using a variety of equipment including free weights, fit ball, bands and steps. Your workout ends with hard core abdominal training.

Pilates

Mat based, core strength class, incorporating flexibility and toning. Pilates is an exercise method which aims to create a balance in the body. It is designed to cater for the individual needs of each person. Pilates offers a trimmer waist, flatter belly, better posture based on a balanced muscle tone, less fatigue and lower incidence of back pain and injury.

Fitness Mania

This class offers something for the entire body – cardio, strength, balance, flexibility. This class will shape and define your whole body with effective, time-efficient methods using a variety of equipment. Workout ends with hard core abdominal training.

Turbo Step

This is a step class with a kick! Definitely for the advanced stepper looking for a new challenge.

20/20/20

This class consists of 20 minutes of cardiovascular exercise, 20 minutes of strength training and 20 minutes of stretch/floor exercise.

Zumba©

This class is a fusion of Latin and International music – dance themes that create a dynamic, exciting, effective fitness system! The routines feature aerobic/fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. Zumba® utilizes the principles of fitness interval training and resistance training to maximize caloric output, fat burning and total body toning.

Step/Weight Combo

This class provides step aerobics and strength training all in one class. The class incorporates various step combinations along with various sculpting moves using weights for all fitness levels.

Cardio Blast

This is a high intensity cardiovascular workout that will keep you guessing what will come next. This class is to condition cardio for all fitness levels. A class that maximizes calorie burn by alternating cardio drills with weight training.

N.I.C.E. – Non-Impact Cardio Exercise

Exciting class using exercise balls and weights. Burn calories, enhance your motor skills!!

Step & Tone

This is a great blend of step aerobics and strength training all in one class. This class will give you step combinations along with various sculpting moves using both the step and weights. Great for all fitness levels.

Butts & Guts

Works everything from the waist down, especially the posterior region. Works core, abs & lower back, plus an intense sculpting segment for glutes & legs.

Kick Boxing Boot Camp

This class is high intensity with a combination of boxing drills and easy to follow combinations utilizing controlled punches and kicks. This will increase your balance and strength and is designed to get the heart rate up and burn the maximum amount of calories in a short period of time.

Instructor’s Choice

As the title implies, this class is totally up to the instructor. The class could anything from circuit, body, cardio or strength/resistance training, making for a fun exercise experience for all fitness levels.

Circuit

Individual stations of alternating cardio and weights. 1 minute rotating stations.

Kids Class

Fun fitness activities designed to introduce kids to exercise. Activities include jumping, dancing, balls, drums.
